Family First – Jiu Jitsu Blog

Pacific Top Team

Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Blog!

Welcome to the first official Jiu Jitsu blog from Pacific Top Team Martial Arts, Vernon. Starting from this post and moving forward we will be offering a weekly article about Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, Martial Arts, MMA, training tips and so much more. If you have any topics of interest you want to see, or if you feel like you have an article you would like to share please let us know. We would love to have as many resources as possible; after all we are all part of the same community!

Let’s start things off, the two main writers will be Andrea Pow, a first degree purple belt at Pacific Top Team Vernon with a Brown Belt in Judo. A true Martial Artist. She brings some amazing experiences to readers on and off the mats.

The second writer is Dani Kuntz, a white belt who has recently moved to Calgary, and has continued training under Pacific Top Team with a few others who also call Alberta their home. She is a Social Media Marketer, and owner of In a Breeze Marketing.

Family First

Brazilian Jiu Jitsu has created a second family for anyone practicing the Martial Art. You spend hours of your most humbling moments in trust of your training partners, creating a bond some of us may never have with our family and friends. Our brothers and sisters come from all walks of life, young athletes, children, essential services, mothers, lawyers to name a few; but once we put the Gi on and bow into the mat space we are all equals. Different walks mean different goals, but one goal remains the same for everyone: To do our personal best on this Brazilian Jiu Jitsu journey and to one day have the honour and gratitude to earn a Black Belt.

Pacific Top Team has strong family roots where your safety and well-being are always a top priority. Our Professors and Coaches are invested in giving you thorough instruction on technique, continual coaching and the willingness to answer any questions you may have. As a team, everyone looks out for each other whether it’s training day or not. We have grown a strong bond, and want to continue to grow these relationships with other like-minded individuals passionate about BJJ. Thanks for reading our first Jiu Jitsu blog.
